Soooooooooo Disappointed in John Edwards :(

This is not intended to be political because I don't believe his party-affiliation has anything to do with his philandering...

I am just SO disappointed in him.  First he cheats on his cancer-stricken wife.  Then the mistress has a baby that he vehemently denies.  And NOW he admits that the kid is his.  

And he had the nerve to try to run for president with all of this scandal brewing.  Can you imagine if he had been the Dems' candidate and this came out during the campaign?

I just think he's incredibly selfish and I'm so disappointed in him

I supported him in the primaries and I'm SO glad he didn't win, now. This totally would have come out during the election campaign. Dude must have pretty big balls to think he could get away with that while running for president in 2008. He would have completely bombed and McCain would have won, hands down. Really, what a jackass to be so selfish.

In the spirit of keeping this non-political, I've always thought he's cute   But yeah that sucks.

Politicians philander. I've stopped getting surprised at it. It's disappointing, yes. But I've kind of stopped being surprised when I hear about it. Integrity in one's personal life speaks volumes about the type of stuff they'll do in their careers, IMO.

Threadjack, sorry. I heard from one of my coworkers today that Tiger Woods is apparently at a sex rehab clinic in Hattiesburg, MS. I haven't googled to see if it might be true yet.

I never had a doubt that baby was his.  He lied about everything else, it just made sense that he was lying about that too.  The news today didn't surprise me at all. What a jerk.

I would be disappointed if I'd ever thought he was anything but a slimy jerk. But I'm not disappointed or at all surprised. (FWIW, I'm a die-hard Democrat, but he always gave me the heebie-jeebies.)

i'm not surprised when any politicians cheat on their wives. so many politicians seem to think they are invincible and above reproach and they use their power to get whatever they want from anybody. i had a friend who interned at the white house and she said that she was so surprised by what cocky assholes most of them are when they are dealing with the "little people."

Every time something new comes out about this, I get mad all over again. I liked John Edwards about as much as I can like a Democrat back in the day, and he really sold himself on the strength of his marriage, talking about how he and his wife go to Wendy's every year for their anniversary because that's what they did the first year and they want to remember what life was like when they were young and broke. Such bullshit.

He should have just admitted to everything at once, rather than dragging out the sleaze like this. Whoever is doing his PR is not very good.
