It's Friday!!

I didn't ever think this week was going to end. I wish I could spend the weekend sleeping and relaxing, but that is probably out.

I slept like a rock last night, just not enough. And for one time this week, there weren't any storms. There are more problems for H (getting the truck) and I am ready to just throw my arms up in the air.  Now he doesn't even know if he can move this weekend or not. But I just don't know who will help him next weekend since his Dad will be back to work from his vacation time.

I hope you ladies have a great weekend esp those that have today off! And congrats and best wishes to those getting married this weekend. (It's too early, so my brain can't think of all the names right now)

Re: It's Friday!!

  • Congrats Rosie and MK! I think it's MK, at least. I'm also bad at remembering things.

I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow. I've been thinking about it since Monday. THis week dragged ass for sure. Sunday, provided the rain doesn't stop us like the weatherman is predicting, we are doing a couples and TTD shoot. We never did e-pics and couldn't afford a wedding photographer, so we're doing it backwards and having pics done now.
  • I had a whole three days off in a row!  tomorrow is my last day off and then 5 days straight...boo.

We just heard Delta bark for the first time.  Wholy crap!  She has one deep, from the bowels of h$ll bark.  We let her out and she ran down the driveway, barked down the street a few more times.  We have no idea what was out there, but I can just about gaurantee it;s staying outside of our property line!

  • I need more details on Delta, aMrs. Please and thank you. I LOVE other people's puppies. I don't have the energy or time to train a puppy.

Yay, it's Friday! 1 class of exams to administer and grade, graduation, then out to grab a bite with a teacher friend. My parents are watching my daughters (and the dog) tonight, so I don't have to worry about hurrying home to them.

Delta is a one year old Bull Mastiff cross rescue, so we use the term "puppy" loosely.  She is right at her breed standard (68 cm at the withers) but is a bit light for her size at 42 kg, so I'm convinced that what she is a cross of was also heavy on the mastiff.  We need to get her to between 48-50kg.  She is house broken, has manners and is gentle as a button.  She likes to pretend she is a throw rug.  We've had her for a week and until tonight the only sounds we've heard her make was snoring and farting.

She is shy in new situations so toady we took her into the village for a look around/socializing training.  She did great but has been happier.  I think some training is our future.

And just because she is so darn cute...another picture!

  • Okay, that's the kind of "puppy" I could handle. She's fabulous!
  • Oh she is just too cute! I love bully breeds - they are my favorite :)

  • Happy Friday!  And congrats Rosie and MK!

Seshat -- have fun with your TTD shoot.  I want to do one but I'm not sure when/how that would work.

Today is going to be so busy.  It's H's birthday tomorrow, and we're having a cookout.  After work I have to do all the shopping, then H made plans for us to hang out with friends tonight.  And I got a text from an ex-roommate of mine who lives in MD and is coming up to CT for the weekend, and needs a place to crash.  So we're having a guest tonight.  Busy, busy day.

  • Good morning. My computer at work hit the shitter, so I'm on someone elses computer and I hate it.  The keyboard is one of those broken up and turned ones.....plus it's on a tray that I cant even fit my hands in to type, the mouse sucks.  I now have knot tv.  I should have stayed home today.  But I can't because I have LOADS of work to do b/c the dumped it all on me being a person short.  I don't make enough for this at.all.

Oh yea, and I got a message last night that they're doing a showing at our house on Saturday morning.  So now my Friday night consists of working out and cleaning.  Ugh.  Nobody wants to buy this lame house, I don't even know why they're trying.  They need to lower the price and take a loss if they really want rid of it.
  • Good morning!  That dog is adorable, aMrs.  I wish she could play with Baloo.  They would be so cute together.  I'm so glad it's Friday.  H and I went running last night, and I think we've finally found a kind of exercise that we both like!  Well, he likes it and he'll push me to do it.  So that works.  Plus he's taking me shopping for new running shoes tonight!  I've had mine since...freshmen year I think?  It's time for new ones.

The stupid boat that I don't agree with is parked at my house until the weekend.  I'm a little irked that no one bothered telling me it was going to be stored there.

  • Morning!  I wanted to sleep in today because I have the day off, but that didn't happen.  Oh well, it still felt good not to have to set the alarm.  I have lots of running around to do today to get ready for the weekend.  Hoping to fit in a trip to the gym, too.  Weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend, which I am very happy about.
  • Yay for Friday! I'm so ready for the long weekend. I am officially the only person in my office right now and it's really strange. Entirely too quiet and a little creepy.

Very cute puppy, aMrs. We still call our dog a puppy and he's almost 2 years old. I guarantee I will call him a puppy until he's 12.

Oh and I just read the most ridiculous news article ever.

CN: The Italians are charging 7 seismologists with manslaughter because they failed to predict an earthquake that killed around 300 people. Apparently they were supposed to know that a big one was coming because there was a cluster of smaller ones right before it hit in 2009.

Even if they could predict it (which they couldn't, they could have guessed, maybe) how were they supposed to guarantee that everyone paid attention and didn't die?
ETA: I believe there is a reason they calls these things "acts of God".

  • Morning..

I feel bad.   At 6:30am I was downloading some pictures from the b-party.  Nothing crazy or anything.  I have my 13 year olds on my FB.  Anyway, I've never used the create an album tag recognition before and thought it would be cool to see how it works.   I do not normally tag friends on photos so I was going to delete the tags.  (I hate when people tag me, so I figure others feel the same way). I just wanted to see how it worked and figured 6:30am was a good time..

Well the bride must have a push notifications and was up at 6:30.  She was pissed I tagged her on one of the pictures. Apparently it was agreed no b-party pics on FB, but I didn't get the message.  Opps. I felt so bad and deleted the picture right away.
I locking down my photos to only friends and in some cases I locking it down to only specific people (like I did in this case). So I didn't really think much about it.  Of course she doesn't know that, so I can see how she was annoyed.  I guess I should have picked a better pictures to play around with.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Love the bully baby aMrs... bully breeds have a soft spot in my heart.

Moooooorning ladies! This will be a p&r since I have my first 13-hour day at work. Yes, thirteen. Ugh. I'm already regretting my decision to cover for the girl on maternity leave, but I suppose I'll be singing a different tune come my first FT paycheck.

FI and I are going to look at 2, possibly 3 more houses this weekend hopefully. I'm just over house hunting at this point.
  • Cfas, we actually kind of got into a fight about it last night.  She thinks I'm being disrespectful because I don't think it's a good idea.  I feel that I have the right to my opinion, but now I can't ask her if she's still making sangria for my MIL's birthday on Sunday.  I really want sangria :(

  • Morning!

Happy wedding weekend and vow renewal weekend Rosie and MK!

Sesh - Have fun at your TTD!

aMrs - Delta is adorable.  I love those dogs.

Ugh, my grandmothers dog woke me up at 11:30 and 4:30 to go outside.  I am so tired this morning I want to cry.

  • My mother is of that school too, Adamar, where even voicing your disagreement is considered disrespectful.

I agree with Cfas.  Let it go for now, then bring up the sangria later when she's had a chance to cool down.  Chances are she'll have forgotten about it.

Morning everyone! I am so glad it's Friday, even if I have to wake up even earlier than normal tomorrow to catch my flight. At least in about 26 hours I'll be in Florida!

Matilda, that story is crazy. With the Italian justice system though their trial will probably take a few more years, then their sentence will be suspended for time served even though they probably haven't spent any time in jail, and then even if they do go to jail they will probably be released ahead of time because when the Italian prisons get full they just let everybody go.
  • Woo-hoo! My friend just stopped by my classroom with an idea of where to go for dinner. Melting Pot, woo-hoo! And no, 2 "woo-hoos" in a single post is not too many. This is the Melting Pot we're talking about here, folks!

Good Morning & Thank you ladies! We're just hanging out until Lucas's parents come over. They're going to spend the morning and early afternoon running errands with us. Most of my family and friends should be in town this afternoon and early evening. My family is taking my sister out for her 30th birthday today. I see a margarita in my future.

I <3 all of you ladies and I'll definitely post pics. We're off to TN on Monday and won't be back until next Sunday. Have a great weekend Eeners!!

    Rosie enjoy your day!!! Congrats!

    Have fun, MK!

  • Oh God, if voicing my disagreement with my parents was disrespectful in our house, my brother and I would be headed for hell in a handbasket tied with a bow. Granted, it's always followed with apologies, but, we all have the same tempraments, so it's gonna happen.

I came in 1/2 hour early today to help my coworker put 200 cards in graduation packets. They'd given her 30 minutes to do it. She normally does it the day before, not the day of. PLUS - I took half the day off, so I leave at 11:30 (instead of 12), and I get to have lunch with John.

We thought something was wrong with Max yesterday, and I took him into the vet right after work (swallowed one of the many things he's chewed up in the past week, had something thrown over the fence he shouldn't have had, hurt a leg, etc). Yeah. He was fine. He's been chewing and licking on his feet and his eyes are pink, so he'll be getting 2 benadryl twice a day for a week or two. Allergies.

Faker. And I had to figure out how to get him into my SUV and back out, twice. Not cooperative.

I love the new addition, aMrs!

  • Honestly, Cafs, I don't go to the Melting Pot without a coupon/Groupon. I think it's too expensive to pay full price, but that might just be me.

  • MK!  I'm glad you came around, because I wanted to tell you that I started that couch to 5K that you suggested the other day, and I really like it so far.  I hope you have a lovely weekend, and have fun in TN.

I think my mom is more upset because we normally agree on just about everything, but this time she just doesn't see where I'm coming from.

I've never been to Melting Pot either. I'm a weirdo who isn't really into fondue though, so that might be why.
  • I like to go to the melting pot when someone else is paying.

That said, I haven't been to the melting pot in years since I don't winter in Ocala with my horse anymore.

  • Good morning!

I've been busy all week with wedding crap and finals and stuff.  The invitations are now stuffed and ready to be sent out on Wednesday.

Missy, I'm with you about not missing the storms.  This week, there have been four tornadoes within an hour of me.  Wednesday night, the TV weatherman was predicting the apocalypse for my town, and was yelling "Take cover!  Take cover!"  We don't have a basement, so I shoved the cat in his carrier and put him in the laundry area, and I leashed up the dog and took him with me.

FI pulled everything out of his closet and shoved me in there.  He dragged the kitchen table into the bedroom, put it as far into the closet as it could go, and grabbed the comforter off the bed to put over the whole thing.  The storm was really loud, and I was terrified.

Here's a video of the hail:

Yay Adamar! I'm glad you like it.

I've only been to Melting Pot once. I agree with Matilda. I'd only go if I had a coupon/groupon. It's kind of expensive. I prefer the Cheesecake Factory. I know it's not the same, but if someone gave me a choice, it would be that over the Melting Pot.

  • Oh wow, SpecialK, that video is scary! I'm glad you guys are okay and took the proper precautions just in case.

And yay for getting your invites ready to go out! That made it seem so much more real for me.
