How you doing tonight?

Just found out a friend of ours offically was granted leave this past week to come to our wedding, and thought of you!

I'm doing really good today, thanks!  H was put in a hotel for the night and bought internet access so we've been able to skype all day.  Its the morning now there and he will actually be leaving in a few hours to head out so I know our time is running out, but its been great to be able to talk all day. 

Thats so exciting that your friend can come!  I have a good friend in the Army who was away at a school and needed to do some finagling to be able to come, including driving 8 hours each way that weekend, but I was so excited he could come and honored that he did all that to come. 

How did everything work out with your wedding?  I remember you having some issues with planning and venues.  Did it all end up working out okay?

Aw thats great that you got some 'face' time. How did your dog do?

Gosh thinking about it, both grandparents, and my dad were in the military in some form and most aboard ... I can't imange what my grandma went through when we at least have things like skype and email....

I actually just has a "omg its only 2 weeks away moment" but after lotttsss of time and drama we are finally getting here. The venue stuff got worked out, and I think the last time we talked my dad had just implied that he was going to have a hard time paying, well that has been all sorted out.

FI and I have been through A LOT while we were engaged in our heads it just seemed like we'd never get here some days. So we just kind of shared at each other saying ....wow we great got here and out wedding is what we actually planned .....

Yeah I understand that feeling.  Our planning wasn't the problem so much, but between moving and the deployment and whatnot it was hard to find a time where everything worked out.  There were times when I thought the wedding would never come. 

I'm so glad it all worked out for you.  Yes, that was the thing with your dad at the time.  I'm glad for him too that he was able to get all that sorted out.  I remember the biggest OMG moment for me was the weekend before our Friday wedding when we were talking about the wedding.  I was in mid conversation then yelled "Holy sh!t our wedding is Friday."  You go so long saying the month or the date or whatnot so its so crazy to finally say "its on Friday."

And yes I completely agree with Skype and email making it so much better now.  I've heard from the other wives that the email is pretty regular back and forth so I'm excited for that.  I don't know how long until he will get his email setup, but he has a friend on the ship that he will email me from to let me know he got there okay if needed.

Thats great that you have that stuff worked out. We have one friend in the Air Force that just got the leave to come, and then a DEAR friend of mine that my FI has only met once in college just got sent back from Iraq. I've never even met his wife because they squeezed their wedding in on NYE after getting engaged while home on leave for Christmas. I'm sooooo excited to meet her and finally see him!

Yeah their has been a LOT of family drama. FI and I said we only were going to do what we could afford and then my dad surprised me when we got engaged and said he had been saving up to help us out. It was a huge help and got us here to this day.

I'mmmmm soooo excited. I'm acutally trying to pick out some last minute things online right now ...

Your wedding is at Pearl Street right?  Everyone I've talked to thats had a wedding there or been to one has absolutely loved it.  I really wanted Pearl Street, but we decided to keep ours in the falls to make it easier on our elderly relatives.

Yes I LOVE Pearl Street. I wanted non tradional, FI has only seen tradition and thought everything needed to follow those "rules" our compromise was the Cathedral for the service to have the traditional catholic wedding and that I'd play by the rules, and then a bright colorful reception at Pearl Street to follow


Didn't you get married at the place that over looks the Falls? We looked up there and liked soooo many placed but were out of our budget or couldn't fit the size

Sorry, skype again.  He has to leave in an hour so we'll be getting back on in a bit to say goodbye.  Again.  Its crazy. 

We didn't get married overlooking the falls, but went there for pictures.  Our reception was down the street from the falls though and you could see the fireworks at night which was awesome.
