Hey, I'm in need of advice. I'll try to keep this short. My brothers both work for a company and work out of Colorado. H and I have been talking about trying to move out there, wanting to live out there pretty much since we met (almost 8 years). My brother let H know last week that his company is hiring, so H sent them a resume and applied for a job that was based out of CO. He sent this online Sunday night. My one brother is going to talk to his boss (hiring manager) about H when his boss comes back from vacation next Monday.
This afternoon H got a call from the company, but the job/guy who called him is in Louisiana. Someone in HR had passed H's resume along to him. Nothing against Louisiana, but we don't really have any desire to move there/live there. H told the guy he was at work and would have to call him back. How does he politely tell the LA guy thanks but no thanks without sabotaging his chances for CO once the hiring manager there is back from vacation? We really wouldn't even consider relocating to LA under any circumstances. We'd prefer to stay in Ohio if we're not going to get to the area we want to go.
