Regiving a gift?

I feel completely horrible for this happening and it didn't have anything to do with me. I went to a bridal shower this past Sunday for a friend. The bride to be is mutal friends with a woman I work with. The woman I work with was married over the summer and the bride to be and I were both invited, this bride to be bought the woman I work with a very expensive gift. Well apparently the couple did not like it. They regifted to this bride to be at her shower with the excuse- "We figured you must like it since you picked it out for us." I'm sorry but did they not see a problem with this?! The bride to be was completely embarrassed and I had to pick up my jaw from the floor!

  • O_O

I think that may just win the Rudest Bride award, and it's a tough competition.

  • So the bride to be basically bought herself a really nice bridal shower gift. That couple sure does have some big balls to regift a gift to the person that had given it to them. Some people are either just extrememly dumb or just don't give a damn about peoples feelings.

  • Wow-that is shockingly rude and nasty.
  • Is it at all possible that the card was worded poorly and what really happened is they bought her the same thing because they figured she'd like one too?

I just don't want it to be true! lol

No card, present was given in the same gift bag this bride had given to my co worker. I'm not sure if they didn't find this rude or just didn't care. It definitely seemed like a slap in the face though. I didn't mention it and neither did the bride to be, she was embarrassed enough that it happened without all of her shower guests knowing.

Geesh, they couldn't even spring for a new bag? They sound like a great couple (please note the sarcasm)

  • Wow. That is all I have to say.

OMFG!!!! I just gasped out loud to the point my BF asked me what was wrong, I read him this post and even for a guy who is completely utterly clueless when it comes to etiquette said "WOW that took some huge brass balls"

  • Yeah, I have no problem regifting but back to the person who gave it to you? Balls. Big ones.
