But am wondering if it would look cute or really stupid paired with these:

I can't imagine gum boots would be particularly comfortable, but maybe that's just me...

 

However, I had a dress very similar to that, and thus I think it's quite cute.

Miss Intentional, me too...it's kind of a necessity because MSU doesn't drain well..if I don't wear them after it rains, I get soaked up to my knees

I always keep a pair of rain boots in my wardrobe, because they're great to have around for wet days to keep you dry.  I can't imagine wearing them otherwise.

Jill, I love the second dress in the link you posted -- Delia's has great stuff sometimes, even though I feel silly buying things from the store (mostly because I'm older than the managers of it).

meh, not with the Converse shoes. it's just NMS. I bet my sister would do that, she wears her Converses with everything. I'd wear that dress (you're talking the first one, with the red belt, right?) with bright red or white flats.

I didn't realize people actually wore rainboots for rainy days!  How cute!

I do know that rainboots are pretty trendy in LA, and starting to become so here...and we rarely see rain.  I would only be able to wear them if it rained.

Yeah, after I looked at it, I'm not digging it with the converse. I still love the boots though, even if it's not raining

sascha, YES. on my campus, rainboots are a must since the campus has very poor drainage. it's better to wear waterproof rainboots, than to sit in class for an hour (or in my case 3 hours) with cold, wet feet because the standing water in the puddles soaked through your shoes and socks and you can't go home to change into warm, dry socks.

The white dress would be cute with a waist-belt, and some cute flats... I'm not digging the ones you just posted, though, and the cons would look super bizarre with any dress IMO.

I've seen some girls wearing printed gumboots as you posted before over here, as well... for the most part, their usage is restricted to those under the age of 21, though.

this 25 year old still wears her turquoise polky dot rainboots and has for the past 4 years. warm dry feet >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> cold, wet feet at any age.

Of course we do, lol.  I imagine they're probably more popular among pedestrians, like myself.  Having dry feet becomes a lot more important when you're walking around everywhere!
