I do childcare in my home for four little ones. One little girl I have had for just a little over a year now, her mom is a pediatric oncologist for St Judes. Her mom sometimes works different hours and can not always be here by 5:30 to pick child up, thats fine with me and I always work around her schedule. She drops her off anywhere from 7am to 9:30, but most days its about 9am and picks her up about 6-6:30. I am very partial to her child, she calls my dad Papa and my mom honey (thats her grama name) she is like family. However tonight when the mom came she sat down to write me a check for the two weeks left in December, when she handed me the check she asked me not to look at it until after she left.
Well, I waited and oh my gosh I dont even know what to say. She wrote the check for 1200 dollars, I only charge 100 dollars a week so she only owed me 200 dollars. I cant decide if she made a mistake when writting it out or if my eyes are playing tricks on me. I feel very akward accepting this money and I am not even sure how to bring it up to her. I do know that I want to make sure she really meant to write it for that much, but should I tell her I feel wierd accepting this if in fact she did mean to write it for that much. i am not sure what the proper way to go about this is!!
