Officiant help!

We've had some trouble with the officiant. Everyone has either been way out of our budget range 200-300, or unavaliable for our time. We're getting married on Jan 9th, 2011. 25 days.
We managed to book an officiant when he had an unexpected heart issue and had to have heart surgery. Our venue has recommended a few others. I've kept in contact with two. One costs 275, with no meeting, no rehersal dinner, none of that. The other costs 250 and is willing to meet with us once before. However, he's really bad at answering emails, and I usually have to email him twice.
We ended up going with the lady who was 275 before we were told of the other man's price. Well, I'm all for meeting this gentleman, and backing out. Is there a way to do it politely or is it better to just go with the woman we already picked?
Thanks for your help!

Re: Officiant help!

  • I agree with PP that the fact that he is not responsive to your emails indicates something bigger that I wouldn't personally be willing to put up with.  I would spend the extra money to have the person you went ahead and booked and like someone said, you can check this off your list!
