AW - new tattoo

I got started on my rib tattoo today - I love it! The first flowers DH ever gave me were gerber daisies. One is purple because my wedding bouquet had purple roses (but I don't like tattoo roses). We got through the outline and coloring on 2 of the daisies, next appointment will fill in the 3rd and the leaves along with the shading. I love it!

Thats hot!! my friend has a tattoo similar to that (not gerbers, but same type of pattern and swirls) on her back. How long did it take?

We did 3.5 hours today, probably looking at 2.5 to finish.

I feel like a perv asking, but when I got my back tattoo I couldnt for nearly a week.

I should. It's not too painful up there. Thankfully tomorrow is Sunday, so it has a day to heal.

Julez - no, it didn't. Although to be fair, I had the help of Percocet and some vodka. It still hurt - some parts very intensely - but I felt way more relaxed then the Percocet kicked in. The center of the purple flower is right on my hip bone and the dots hurt like crazy.

Can I ask where you went to get it? I really want another tattoo but I'm not sure what I want (besides an owl) or where to get it..

I hope so :) Our tattoo artist is absolutely wonderful. She's done a lot of work on DH and she really has a talent for beautiful color

Ive always wanted to get another tattoo but I cant decide what I want. I also dont know any good tattoo artists around here, I want to be able to trust the person. What else are you planning to do to the flowers in the next session, just color them in?

Yes, she's going to give more depth with some plum and white shading in the purple, and some bright yellow and orange in the yellow one. She also has the leaves to do and then she'll do gray shading to make the flowers pop off the "canvas." It's a different style in that the outline isn't black, so it doesn;t have that harsh border. They'll look more 3D
