Re: Who's Here/Evening Thread

  • KK, how is his pneumonia doing? Is it getting better? One of AJ's coworkers twin babies had meningitis when he was brand new. It's so weird how they can get it!
  • I saw it in a spoiler on another site

KK -- T&Ps for viral.  That kid is a trooper.  Hugs to you and your SIL.

Dnb -- I went with the oral vaccine this time because there's a good chance we'll be going back to the same place in a couple years.  We just went to the travel medicine clinic at my clinic.

Meg -- it took us 2 months to find a suitable rental place.  I don't know why, but the places listed were either rip off tiny new apartments or poorly maintained houses.  My poor MIL says that she wishes she could share the smells of the places she visited on our behalf.  Hopefully this place will work out, but we only plan on being there for less than a year.
  • Good call Mica.  I'm guessing if you have an office at work you have easy access to the info, but if not PM me if you ever have questions.  That's what my job is.

  • Yeah she's totally not a freak or obsessed with vaccines Tongue out
  • KK, lots of continued prayers for little Adam. He's a trooper and thankfully he won't remember any of this.

  • Haha Birdie I realized it would sound incredibly strange that i knew so much about them if you didn't know what my job was.

  • I'm so ready for bed now. Too bad I've been sleeping like crap lately.

  • Ok, I have to get ready and head out for my soccer game.  Have a good night ladies!

       VACCINE?

OMG, you really don't need that.  Everyone else who's vaccinated will protect you!

Thanks again for all the T&Ps, everyone.  I don't know if any of you saw my FB status tonight, but the amount of support we have gotten is so amazing.  Hugs to all of you.

    Haha, Birdie and OOT.

Thanks, dnb. Have a good night!

  • Night Beach!
  • night beachy!
  • OOT: I have seen examples on TK of people overspending.  An example comes to mind where the "bride" is already married with a small child (had a shotgun wedding a couple of years ago).  Is planning a PPD, but had a financial scare last month where checks were bouncing because her H spent like $200 without telling her.  If the difference between paying and not paying your bills is $200, AND you have a child, the PPD is silly.  I would say the same thing about a large wedding, if it were a wedding.

But in general, I find that most people don't pay more than they can.
  • So did any of you married girls have buyers remorse after you  bought your bridal jewelry? I'm kind of having that with the earrings I bought.
  • Birdie, FWIW, I really liked the earrings.

  • Yeah Birdie, I remember the earrings.  I like them a lot.
  • Not so much Birdie. My earrings were a present from my mom and dad, which I don't see me wearing too much, but I don't wear a lot of earrings. Necklace was a Christmas present by H and love it and I wear it when I can. A bracelet was made by my MOH and won't wear it again because it has a charm that says, " I do."
  • I really like them too, but after the royal wedding it really got me wanting a different type of earring. The model in my dress is also wearing earrings (and a necklace that I could do without) that I really like.

I guess I still have 5 months to change my mind a lot.
  • Mica - posts like that frustrate me.  If all you can afford is beer, that's fine.  But you better not be in a 5k gown, or spent exorbiant money on a limo. Cut distant relatives, if necessary.  But take care of your guests first.

And if all you can offer is beer even after cutting on "me" items, then all you can afford is beer.  You don't tell people to bring their own of anything else.   But I'm preaching to the choir here.
  • I'm here :) It's been an ok day, I went to school to find out that they cancelled my class yesterday and didn't tell anyone. Then I had to rush around and find a new class to get in, so now I'm taking Elementary Italian. We went to the mall tonight, and both girls promptly had meltdowns, which was fun. We tried to pick out ties for the guys, almost decided, then realized that we didn't want to pay 80 bucks for 3 ties so after wasting an hour, left and went home. So now I'm pulling my hair out trying to find coordinating mis-matched ties on thetiebar.com. Oh, and I'm 26 today and my mother sent me an email because she refuses to actually talk to me. Ok so maybe today was a little worse than ok :/

Hi ladies! Apprently Joplin is about to get bad storms again tonight.  They're under a tornado warning right now.  That's the last thing they need.

  • Hi Lovey!

Ugh.  I failed at being a lawyer tonight.  FAIL.
