What you is doing?

All of my coworkers are at lunch. I stayed at the office to eat my tasty cup of Ramen at my desk because I have a deadline on Wednesday and I'd like to finish up today. Problem is, I haz lots of questions and am stuck with the project because there's no one here to ask questions. So I'm knotting til everyone is back from lunch. What're yooooooooou doing? What's for lunch? Got a joke? Fun weekend story? Anything?

  • I think I'm about to eat cold leftover pizza for lunch.  And then I'm going to settle in with Fool Moon and read while watching it rain outside.

    I'm lame.

  • Moose, that sounds like a fantastic day to me. I love being cozy when it's nasty outside.

  • I'm really not wanting to go back to work now. We are 500 students over capacity at my school so there is no space for my team. We get to have our main base in the library eating room. This means I'm going to be stuck with pita coworker (I vented about her a lot last year) in a 5' by 8' room. I just might go crazy.
  • i'm at work, but i like to take little knot breaks.

I just wish I were cozy at home instead of in this awful office chair in a noisy  cubicle.

  • I just finished lunch with my H, and just ordered our new comforter set for our new bed, and I'm paying a medical bill. Exciting. I'm also nursing my back and neck from too many rides at Adventureland on Saturday.
J sold me out and put me in the front of the log flume ride, told me there was a buffer.
He lied. It was like someone dumped a 5 gallon bucked of water all over me. When we got home at 10 (after getting the dog, etc), my socks, shoes and underwear were STILL wet. But, we did have fun.

  • I wanna ride rides. It's been ages since I've been to an amusement park, or fair, or anything that has rides.

  • Supposedly working.

I had a dream last night that all of the ladies of "E" were actually just sitting in a computer lab, talking to each other on the message boards.  But then we lost power, so we all just started hanging out, chatting and having drinks.  Everyone was having a great time!  Kind of funny.

  • I'm falling asleep at my desk and I have a headache.  I think I'm going to ask H to take me home when he's through with lunch.
  • I'm at work, being lazy.  I have zero motivation to do any actual work today.  I'm also listening to VSQ Does Lady Gaga, which is f'ing amazing.

Not sure what's for lunch today... Jimmy John's sounds good, though.

  • Boo OWN. I hope you're not getting sick. Falling asleep at my desk is usually a precursor to me getting sick.

  • At work. Working. Ish.

I ddn't have a relaxing weekend. Got home from work on Friday, left right away for Arizona, got in at 2am. Drove back yesterday and got home around 10pm, went to bed by 11. So I was barely home all weekend.

But I did fun things: had brunch with Brookelyn and Roxy, went to my friend's wedding, toured a Frank Lloyd Wright structure, went to an old-fashioned soda counter.

  • I have a funny store for you, how's that? After 2.5 years with my stylist, I have finally decided to break up with her. I found someone I like better. But, as the song says, breaking up is hard to do. So anywhos, I was at my NEW stylist and I told her "Hey, you're the main gal from here on out." She cut my hair and I lurve it.

On my way home with my fab new haircut,  my phone rings and it's my OLD stylist. She says "HEY! HI! HOW ARE YA? Did you know you had an appointment with me tonight? It's ok, I don't mind because I love you oh so much and I will rearrange my schedule JUST FOR YOU!"

And that's the part where I died of embarrassment. So maybe not a funny story so much as a really painfully awkward one.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: What you is doing? : When we were at Disneyland in July, we ended up in the front row (just the 2 of us- designed for 4) of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I was soaked, my pants didn't dry off for almost 2 hours. ..just in time to go down Splash Mountain, and because I was in the last seat, get absolutely drenched again. Thank God it was a warm day.

FI tried telling me Splash Mountain wasn't bad and I wouldn't get wet. He was wrong. He said, "oops, I forgot."

I'm doing battle with fleas currently. I don't see how they could have possibly survived the house spraying Terminix did, the yard spraying FI did, the upholstery spraying I did with flea killer stuff, and the dogs' flea meds. Those little fuckers are resilient, I guess.

  • Can I tell you guys about the wedding I went to? Cause I want to tell someone and it might as well be you guys.

Things she did that y'all would like:
    - BMs wore black dresses of their choice, accented with brightly colored shoes and jewelry of their choice. GMs wore tuxes with brightly colored vests, ties and converse.
    - Nice selection of food for cocktail hour and dinner. (Everything was vegetarian, mostly vegan, except one chicken entree, because the groom is a vegan, which was cool with me.)

Things I liked that you probably wouldn't:
    - used boardgames for table numbers, with the games on the table. They are REALLY into board games. Totally fit them.
    - put people at tables with people they didn't know to encourage "mingling" - we ended up sitting with a couple who was friends with the groom, but they did just get married, so we had fun talking about that.
    - Gave chocolate scrabble tiles as favors, but we had to play a game with them and see what wedding-related words we could make with our tiles.
    - There were like 4 secular readings and 6-7 prayers in the ceremony. At first FI and I were both all, "OMFG no way," BUT it was a Baha'i ceremony and that's literally all there was, so it was 25 minutes long. The Baha'i vows are one line the bride and groom say to each other and there's no clergy, so the wedding party members did all the reading.

    Additional information:
    - IT WAS A DRY WEDDING. Which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Cocktail hour wasn't GREAT (we had punch that was on dry ice, crazy), but everyone had a good time and no one snuck downstairs to the bar. I also half expected it to be dry.

  • I fuucking hate fleas.  I would rather be in pain than be itchy.  Mosquitos are on my list, too.

I'm at work, just got back from my lunch break of going to the post office to do new passport photos and mail all of that junk in.  I had a Healthy Choice Fresh Mixer for lunch.  Southwest Chicken or something like that.  It didn't kill me, so that's something.

  • I'm certianly not equipped to deal with a Canadian winter, but I'm really jealous of you Canucks and your cool weather. FI and I were outside on the deck last night talking about how nice it was. I looked at weather.com to see what the temp was. 82 degrees is "nice" to us.

  • Arizona was pretty hot, but I got used to it. It's only about 70 here today, though, but that's fine with me.

I don't get flea bites, but I worry about the cats getting worms and infections. We're due to give them advantage this weekend, but it that doesn't work we'll have to have them dipped and bomb the house.
