Swat Team?!

ummm so Mike was just walking the dogs and was told by a SWAT team to get back in the house. We live on a quiet little block so this is kinda weird/scary. There are police units blocking off our street and guys with automatic weapons crawling up and down the block. There are k-9 units too and my dogs are freaking out.

My landlady says she can see from her window that they are focused on the house two houses down from us. Apparantly the guy has a gun... or thats what they told her when she went out to see what was going on. There has to be more to it than that though.

holy crap holy crap. Mike is staring out the windows but crap like this scares me. What if there are kids in there or what if it is drugs? I mean, things like this rarely turn out well. I am just sitting here knotting trying to keep myself busy... but what if the guy tries to flee? uggggggggh.

google one of the news stations - they may have a breaking news story.  SWAT could get called out if the guy's holding a family member hostage and threatening to use the gun on himself.

Rach - my neighbor did call the police. All they said was that the guy inside has a gun and to stay inside. Great. Thanks.

Ahhhh!!!!!!!

Tell Michael to get his damn head out of the window!!  And stay away from the windows and make sure all the doors are locked!

Believe me, I KEEP yelling at him. I have both the dogs on their leashes here by me too because they are going insane over the k-9 units and the other dogs in the neighborhood barking.

When SWAT responds, they don't fuuck around. I was involved with a SWAT team member for a while, and some of the stories he'd tell...

But definitely lock all doors and windows, and if you're watching out of one, make sure its one you either can't be seen from, or can move away from quickly. No walking the dogs!

! I mean, they keep saying it is only one armed guy, he is probably just trying to dispose of all his drugs before giving himself up. Buttt, I have seen way to many crime shows and I am creeping myself out. The first thing that comes to mind is wondering if there are kids in the house with him or whatever.

Maybe the news isn't covering it so the perp can't turn on his tv and see what positions the swat team has taken up?

Nothing. They actually all just drove off too. I am scanning the news, but nothing. I am assuming it is all over. No shots were fired and no dogs barking or guys yelling. I think it ended peacefully after all.

I will be sure to let you know the full story tomorrow when I see it on the news.

Hmmm...thats unsettling!  Even if it is over, I wouldbe worrying as to what would cause a SWAT team to be in my neighborhood and if I had a crazy man living 2 doors down.

Nooo kidding. eek! I mean, I know you can have crazy people anywhere... but I love the neighborhood and I felt really safe walking my dogs alone. You can bet I will not be doing that any time soon.
