Escort Card Etiquette

This is probably a really dumb question. I apologize if everyone have already answered this over and over.
For the escort cards, you list the couples together (Mr. & Mrs.) then what do you do about their kids under the age of 10? Can you put the siblings together (Natalie & Nathaniel)?

Thanks, I appreciate the help.

EDIT: What if a women who is divorce kept her ex's last name for herself and her young son? Should I list Ms. Jane Smith & family? There's only one son and no husband, can I still call her son "family"?

Re: Escort Card Etiquette

  • You can just put "John Smith family"  or "John, Jane Smith and family"

We only had 7 kids, so we just gave them their own.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • we gave everyone their own, so Jane, John, Billy and Suzie had 4 separate escort cards.

If you go the family route I don't think I'd say "Jane Smith and family"  I would do "The Jane Smith Family"  so that one kid isn't "and family"  You could also just list everyone.  "John, Jane, Billy, and Suzie Smith"
  • We did couples together but gave kids their own escort cards.
  • We gave everyone their own escort cards. It made it so much simpler for our guest list, as I'm not sure 6-7 names could have fit on our cards, but we had families that size.
