Gift Question

My parents are helping out tremendously with our wedding. I am so grateful for all they have offered to do and have been doing. My FI is from South Africa, and his parents will not be able to contribute anything for our wedding here in the states. I completely understand and have NO issue with this because my family and my FI will be traveling to South Africa in September for an engagement party/vacation! FI's Mom and Dad are hosting the party and both of their sides of the family will be there.

My questions is: FI and I plan on giving a gift to my parents for all of their help with the wedding. We also plan on giving a gift to his parents for hosting our engagement party. Would it be ok to give FI's parents their gift in South Africa and then my parents gift here during the RD?

Also, I am trying to think of what gift I could get for FI's parents that can travel across country.

TIA!
Anniversary

  • Yup! You are good to go!

Maybe there is place in South Africa they love to go to eat, relax, vacation that you can stop into while you are there and grab them a gift certificate?
  • That makes sense to me, too.  As for the gift, why don't you get them a nice gift certificate once you get there?
