Help?

So, I have a bridal shower in an hour and a half.  FI's aunt planned it and didn't ask my input on the guest list, other than for my mom and sister's addresses.  I assumed it would just be a few of his aunts that live in town and that's it.

Apparently his aunt invited a family friend of theirs that is not invited to the wedding to the shower--FI and I don't know her well, but she's kind of a family hanger-on that shows up to everything.  FI just mentioned this to me about 10 minutes ago.  Is there anything I can do to make this NOT awkward?

I knew TWO out of 18 people at the shower MIl threw for me. Her and one of DH's aunts. Awkward city.

Brie, in your thank you note to this hanger-on woman you could right something like "It was such a nice surprise to see you at the shower", then she'll know it wasn't you idea to invite her. Hope it was a fun day!
