THIS TIP COULD SAVE YOUR INVITATIONS!

Before printing your invitations, be sure to read what it says out loud and word for word.  Sometimes being a stressed-out bride can cause overlook things that you normally wouldn't.  I'm an extreme detail oriented person and a perfectionist.  And I misspelled a word on my invitations... after I had already had them printed, stuffed, and sealed.  They we're absolutely beautiful and seemed to be perfect.  Then, my sister started reading it out loud, word for word, when she caught the mistake "Cake at punch will be served immediately following ceremony."  I was livid!  I seriously considered buying more boxes of invitations and maually feeding each invitation, envelope, reply card, and reply card envelope just to change "at" to "are".  But I came to conclusion that the only way she noticed it is because she was reading it outloud, word for word (which I failed to do) and not many will annunciate each word.  Please, please take my advice, so you don't kick yourself later.

wouldn't you change the "at" to "and"

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Also double check your spellings...
Mom didn't realize my FIL Matt was Matthias and not Mathias (and I let the proof get past me) until after we'd printed them... luckily they had NOT been stuffed or sealed yet...

    Best laid plans, right?

I like as well... but in some fairness to the OP, I chalk it up to stress. :)

This. It definitely made me laugh but I understand being stressed. And a couple may have been autocorrect depending on what she was using to write the post.

    LMAO.
  • The suggestion I also received was to read stuff backwards to prevent missing typos and misspellings. I also had 2 others check invitations
  • It happens OP. I was a grade school spelling bee champ who managed to misspell "occasion" on my college graduation announcements... Even if someone notices your typo, they will think about it for all of five seconds and then move on. Not worth redoing them in my opinion.

  • A co-worker received a bridal shower invite with a typo that had us all talking for a couple minutes. On it they asked for "momentary" donations to the couple's honeymoon fund. We were shocked that not only did they ask for money, they couldn't even spell it correctly.
