I'm struggling iwth finding low heel shoes that will be comfortable.  i wear a 1/2 size anyways and usually have issues finding shoes that are comfy.

  • You can wear them if you want.

Personally, I would go a step up in shoes, maybe a nice ballet flat if you're looking for something comfortable?

Also, if you're getting married in a church, the sound of flip flops smacking the aisle is not particuarily wonderful.

I bet if you post some of the things you're looking for, including your size, people will help you find something :)

  • Flip flops a la Old Navy flip flops are NMS with a wedding gown. But if you found some nice flat sandals that have some rhinestones or other embellishments on them that dress them up, I think those would be lovely.

  • I would do flats instead. You can even do peep toe flats if you want to show off your cute pedicure or something.
  • Bloch or Capezio (can't remember which, but it is one of the bigger ballet shoe brands) makes a white satin ballet slipper for weddings. I think they sell them on www.discountdancesupply.com.
  • ahh..kk

    hm.. im looking for a low, maybe mid-heel shoe that's comfortable..and comes in a 10.5.. that's about all i know..lol  any suggestions?

we're getting married outdors  - so super pointed heels are probably not the best idea. i think if the shoes are completely flat..then my dress will drag a bit in the front.

  • Well a lot of ladies here think it is a faux pas.

I was barefoot for the ceremony and wore flip-flops at the reception.

I really didn't care what people thought.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • And not all flip-flops smack.  While I do have pairs that do, the ones I wore at the wedding didn't.

<div><a href="http://www.zappos.com" rel="nofollow">www.zappos.com</a> has a whole bunch, and you can search by size and heel height. A lot of flats have about an inch heel to them, so you should find something without a pointy heel. </div>
  • Lynda, didn't you get married on a beach?

Flip flops with a ball gown is NMS. I wore low heels from Rockport with my dress. They had a wide enough heel to make it easy to walk on grass for photos, and they were really comfortable.

What's "mid heel" in your book? 3/4-1 inch? 3 inches? It's kind of vague, so if you're more specific we could find more?

These are low (2-2 1/2 inch) heels I found in a 10.5 after a very quick search -

I didn't see anything on 6pm in that heel range in white, but do try 6pm - the site is awesome in general. :)

I am wearing flat jeweled sandals for my wedding. They are as comfy as my standard flip flips, but the ankle strap keeps them from making that awful slappinging noise. Summer sandals are on sale all over the place right now. Just check out DSW or 6pm.com. Also, consider designer flash sale sites like ideeli.com, ruelala.com, hautelook.com, beyondtherack.com, and gilt.com. I found my own wedding shoes on Ideeli for an amazing discount. Edited to correct my lack of punctuation. Apparently I can't do hyphens when posting from my phone.

  • If you want to wear flip flops go with it.  They won't be seen while you're standing probably, but if you are going to be sitting facing people during your ceremony at all (we had a mass) or at the reception, when you sit down they will be fully visible.  I think you could do some cute flat sandals with a little bling without a second thought.
  • I'm not a fan of flip flops with a wedding dress. I highly recommend ballroom dancing shoes. Most comfortable shoes ever. I wore these:

With shoes on that site, you can pick the heel height.

Ditto Jill, I ordered my shoes from that site as well. I didn't want a high heel since H and I are the same height, but didn't want flats because, well, I tend to walk like a clod in flats. I had never in my life not kicked off a pair of heels at an event until I bought those shoes. I wore them all night and didn't even feel them. They were amazing.

<div>Look into ballroom dancing shoes.  Low heeled and comfortable, as well as easy to walk in.</div>

  • I am not a fan of heels, but wanted something fancier than flip-flops.  I ended up finding a nice white wedge sandal, which gives me a bit of hieght, but I don't have to worry about being all thumbs walking in them (I am soo bad at walking in heels).

  • Wear what you are most comfortable in!  I am wearing Tiffany Blue Chuck Taylor sneakers under my ball gown.

I wore gladiator sandals and no one got mad at me. I wouldn't wear flip flops, but that's just because I tend to drag my feet in them and I didn't want to do that. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable!
