NWR, but E girls are super helpful! Vacation in South Padre Island, TX

Hey there ladies, I'm wondering if anyone can give me some direction.  My friends and I are looking to take a trip during the first week of April, and the only requirement is that we're at the beach.  However, we are limited to spring break (a friend and fellow traveler is a teacher at a new school, only has spring break off).  We were looking into all-inclusive resorts, but the prices are looking a little steep for this time frame.  So I was thinking about checking out South Padre Island, TX.  Does anyone have any feedback to offer about this destination, and if so do you have any recommendations for finding a beach house for rent?

Thanks!

  • Yeah, I'm looking through the local boards too.  Unfortunately the Texas boards aren't very active (much like my own local board!) but I'll keep looking :)

And thanks, Rachers, I'll have to check out that bar!

S padre is fun, but like pp said, spring break is a big drunk nude fest. If you are looking for something a bit quieter but still beachey I would look into Port Aransas. It's more family oriented but close enough to Corpus that you can go out if you want to. Book early. The TX coast gets crazy around spring break.
