rsvp cards

So I'm making my invitations and I don't have RSVP cards.  I was going to put at the bottom of the invite to rsvp on our wedding website or by email....is this a bad idea?

Re: rsvp cards

  • Will all your guests have internet access and be internet savvy?  Older guests?

  • My aunt did an email RSVP for my cousins wedding and had more than 10 people show up that weren't even invited. Be weary.

  • RSVP by web/email is okay.  For your own peace of mind you may want to include a phone option for older guests / non-tech savvy / people who have issues with the website (which is bound to happen to someone, I'm sure)
  • I was thinking of doing the same thing, mainly due to the cost of the response card itself as well as the additional postage.  So far I've only sent out save the dates (with our website listed), but it seems to be the way we're going to go.  In fact, many people have sent me messages on Facebook that they received the Save the Date, so it looks like most people are pretty computer literate!  If they're not, the odds are pretty good that they know someone who is.  Personally I don't think that in 2012 it should be considered a bad idea to RSVP this way.  Plus, depending on how many guests you have, you can always call the ones that you don't get an RSVP from just to confirm as the date gets closer.

  • Thanks for all of the input.....it is a small wedding in hilton head with just clost friends and family so i think we are going to just put in a separate card with out numbers, the website, and our emails.
