From St Thomas blog:

1st Bank HavensightMe: I’d like to change these 190 one dollar bills to large bills please (Nicci’s tips, and no she doesn’t work at Club 75).Teller: We can’t change small bills to big bills only big bills to small bills…Me: Um, huh? Why? You are a bank…Teller: Ask the manager why.Me to manager: I’m trying to change these ones to large bills but the teller won’t let me? Why?Manager: We don’t do that. All the banks in St. Thomas have this policy.Me: So if I have an account at Merchants they won’t change my money?Manager: If you have an account they will.Me: I have an account with you.Manager: Oh then you have to deposit the ones first then make a withdrawal.Me: Why didn’t the teller just tell me that?Manager: I don’t know.So people of St. Thomas if you want to change your small bills to big ones that’s how to do it. What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
