Bizarre Foods visited Eastern Australia...  Thought you might be interested.  Also, do you like Vegemite?  How often do you eat it, and with what?

  • Indeed I do like vegemite, but only in very, very small scrapings. I think the article is a little misleading in suggesting we all LOVE vegemite. I like it, but it's not as though I'm addicted or anything. I have it maybe once every few months on toast (when we run out of peanut butter! haha).

Just reading the blog: I had no clue that Chiko Rolls were Australian... for some reason, I figured they'd be at many fish and chip shops in other countries (although: do you guys actually have 'fish and chip' shops? I gather not, given that what we call 'chips' you guys call 'fries'... and I don't recall seeing any while at the bay in san fran).

See the mention of 'cheesymite scrolls' in the blog? Those things are delicious!
  • Fish and chips are big in England...  But we do like them, too ;)  We just don't usually refer to fries as chips - unless you're in an English-style pub.  Then they'll be on the menu as chips.

The show said that approximately 90% of Aussie households had Vegemite in the kitchen!  As for the cheesymite scrolls, I'm not sure about those ;)

  • I thought vegemite was disgusting, and so of course, I brought some home for my whole family to try. I don't know how yall eat that stuff. Loved the fish and chips though!
