Whats up ladies

Re: Whats up ladies

  • Good for you Holly! I read the confessions thread a little while ago so I'm glad you were able to work out.

I am working on having less sweet tea too. I started to reduce my intake last week. I love it so.

  • Hiiiii.  I left my house at 7:45 this morning, and now I just got home.  I wanted to work out, but I'm exhausted and lazy and so I'm not gonna, and you can't make me.

I don't even want to heat up chili for dinner.  I just want to sit here.  And sleep.

  • I love Storage Wars!  When we were driving through L.A. my friend and I looked up Jarrod and Brandi's store and wanted to stop there, but at that point we didn't want to fight with traffic anymore.  And "yuuuuuppppp" was said about 45,000 times during our road trip.

KWilliams I would have your FI set up plans ahead of time when you are going to try on dresses.  Like lunch reservations for him or her, or buy movie tickets to go see something during that time.  If she says anything about wanting to go he can just say that he was really looking forward to that time with her.

  • Oh, Kwill - what awful timing.  She may very well be hurt not to be included.  Are you at all interested in inviting her to come along, or are you doing a mother/daughter thing or is it just a bad idea?

  • My MIL came with us dress shopping and had more fun than my mom did.  She loves SYTTD and had an absolute blast.

But I understand if you don't want her to come.  Hopefully she will want to go out with FI and no harm done.

I don't even have to cook it.  Just take it out of the freezer and put it in the microwave.  (Making double batches of stuff and freezing it is the best thing I've ever done for myself.)

I'm hoping she will want to go out with FI, but yes I'm still worried about hurt feelings.  If she truly expresses a real interest in going, I'll let her. I've always wanted it to just be me, my Mom and Grandma.

  • I have gotten so good at cooking for 1, and cooking things that last a few days so I have easy dinners for a few nights.  Like I'll cook at least 3 chicken breasts at time and then eat them over a few days in salads and stuff.

I swear I feel like I never even got married sometimes.  I'm always thrown off when I first start cooking for 2 again, or have to get someone else's opinion on things.

  • I baked frozen french fries in the oven and cooked a polish sausage link.  Healthy :).  But I had chicken/zucchini/rice leftovers for lunch.
  • Lucky for me FI likes to do the cooking - he grilled us delicious chicken breasts tonight and I heated up a steamables veggies bag, haha.  So much work on my part, lol
    image
  • Loops do you ever do the flavored chicken or turkey sausages?  I love them and always have them stocked in the freezer and fridge.  A lot of times for a really easy dinner I'll heat those up with either rice or pasta.  It was a good weight watchers dinner too.

  • Beachy - I do the same thing :).  When H comes home right now to Ohio he makes plans for just about every night (usually including me but I work while he's home so I end up exhausted), but when we're in CO and he's home he won't feel so pressed to make time for "everyone" since "everyone" won't be in CO, they'll still be in OH.
  • Yeah, Beachy - I do those sometimes too.  I bought the polish sausage ones for something different this time.

I did that almost every week in school.  Especially grad school (in undergrad I spent waaaaay too much money eating out all the damn time, whoops).

  • I do a fair amount of take out too.
  • Evening, Ladies!

I was SO hungry when I got home from work tonight that I culdn't wait to eat until after yoga.  And then I don't really feel up for plow pose right after eating, you know?

So now, I feel like a lazy bum.  I guess I could work out at like 9...i just don't wanna.  Maybe I'll get motivated later.

    Hi ladies!!

Speaking of cooking, we just got a vacuum saver from the wedding and omg it is amazing. J used our smoker over the weekend and smoked about 10 or 15 lbs of chicken and beef roast and then we cut them into single dinner servings and vacuum sealed them, then put them into the freezer. Now I have dinner portions for the next 2 weeks even without J here to cook for me! He knew how much I hate cooking so he did this in order for me to actually get protein each day. I love him.

  • Oh, that's awesome MuSu.

If FI didn't nag me, I'd probably forget to eat solid food for days at a time.
  • I eat pasta unless J is here to cook. No lie, that is all I eat for dinner. Now I actually have a variety of choices.
    image
  • I found it easier to prepare meals for myself before FI and I moved in together. I used to do quite a bit of healthy take out or WW frozen meals. Now I feel like I need to make something for him too. I'm sure he would be okay to eat pizza every night but I'm trying to make healthier things the 2 of us can eat.

[QUOTE]I registered for a vacuum sealer too.  I've always wanted one of those.

It is really great, especially because it will motivate me to eat more leftovers.

Yeah, i'm the same way.  I ate a bagel with red sauce and cheese tonight and called it pizza.  But if he didn't have sauce made in the fridge already, it would have been a fruit cup. then a cheese stick.  then another fruit cup. then some wine.
  • What do you consider healthier take out Petal?

I want a vacuum sealer.  And a chest freezer.
  • The chest freezer was also a great investment for us! Once you move to Co, Loops, you should look into CL for those. That is where I got mine, a pretty well taken care of 20 cu ft originally $500 for just under $100.

  • Healthy Take Out: grilled chicken salad, soups, sandwiches with lean meat

I think part of it was I was lazy and would end up not planning ahead of time. I would work late and end up picking up something on the way home or eat frozen meals every night.

  • Yeah.  We only have like a 26' truck (whatever the biggest we can get from uHaul is) with out relocation package, so anything that takes up space is pretty much out of the question until we are moved :).

I'm the same way Holly, which is why the frozen sealed meat is pretty nice now since it still tastes good.
