Please help me assemble these invitations

I should go to invites and paper but I don't know anyone over there!

I have: One large envelope with our return address pre-printed on the back. One flat card invitation. One enclosure card. One response card. One small blank envelope for the response card.

Do I put the response card in its envelope, or on top of it? Do I need to address each response card envelope to myself, or just put the postage on it? Is there a proper stacking order?

  • Same question I had! I assembled my invites last night (had a ribbon that needed to be added) and now I have all the pieces, all the addresses written out and realized I was confused about the order of everything...thanks for letting me hijack the answers!

  • Quick question: is it acceptable to print labels for the guests' addresses or is it necessary that they be hand-written? I can't remember if thank you cards AND invitations need to be hand-written/hand-addressed or just thank you cards. Not going to lie, I'm totally hoping I can get by with printing address labels for the invitations. They're so pretty and my handwriting is so not.

[QUOTE]Hand addressed is technically the correct way. Printing directly on the envelope has recently become acceptable. But honestly, using clear labels is a victimless crime. My ONE wedding regret is that I let this board, back in the day, guilt me into had addressing my invites because I could not run them directly through the printer. I truly think they looked awful and it ruined the lovely invitations that we spent so much time picking out.

<div>We've considered trying to print addresses directly onto the envelopes but I'm honestly terrified I'll f*ck it up somehow. So if you had it to do over again, would you use clear labels?</div>

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Please help me assemble these invitations : It's most appropriate to hand-address the invites. The next best option is to print them directly onto the envelope. PM me your email & Ill send you pics of how I assembled mine.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re:Please help me assemble these invitations: Absolutely, but I have really bad handwriting. I took it slow, did my best possible job, divided it up over many nights so i was only doing 10 or 12 at a time, but still thought they turned out looking incredibly sloppy. Do you have any extra envelopes? If so, I would try both hand addressing and running it through the printer and seeing what you think. If you can't get the printer to work, and you hate the handwritten one, go with labels.

<div>I think I ordered ten extra envelopes. I'm going to let FI try to print on one envelope, and if that doesn't work, then I'm going the clear label route. My print is terrible and my cursive is worse, and I know it's silly but I want these cursed things to look nice considering how expensive they were! Any tips for using the printer?</div>
