When to send out my invites????

So my wedding is May 15, 2010. We were thinking of sending out invites out the first week of April and expecing RSVP's back the last week of April. I've been looking at when other brides sent out thier Invites and many of them do it months in advance. I do think more then 2 months is a little silly but I'm also thinking I may be sending mine out a little to late. HELP!!

Invitations go out 6-8 weeks before the wedding.  Your rsvp date should be about a week before you or your venue needs the final headcount.  So if your venue/caterer needs a final headcount 2 weeks before the wedding, you want to make your RSVP date about 3 weeks before the wedding so you have time to contact people who don't RSVP.

I would send out invitations the last week of March and expect RSVPs back sometime between the 2 and 3 week of April.  This will give you plenty of time to call guests who you have not received RSVPs from and to get accurate counts.

Our wedding is May 8 and we sent ours out a week ago because people were starting to ask about them.

We've already gotten an invitation to another wedding on May 22nd. 

Bottom line, at this point, if you send them out from any time from here on out, you'll be fine.

I'm getting married May 15 too. We don't have any out of town guests, so we're sending them out the first week of April and expecting them back by April 23 I think.

We're getting married the day after you, and sending out our invites as soon as they're printed (in a week or so).

I'm getting married 2 weeks after you, and sending out my invites at the same time as you. RSVP deadline 3 weeks before my wedding.

We're going to a wedding on May 15th, and we got the invitation last Wednesday. I think the RSVP date is April 21st or something close to that. We'll be sending ours out about 9 weeks before our wedding. I like to give a little extra time, but I know sending them out too early can make people space out and forget.

It all depends on when your venue and/or caterer need your final numbers.  Our venue doesn't need final number til 3 days before, but our caterer needs the number a month out. So our RSVP date is July 9, giving us a week to call any no-response people, and still  have the number to him mid-month.

My date is May 15th and I'm hoping to have them out by March 15th ish. We'll see if I finish them this weekend though. My RSVP date is April 24th, which is 3 weeks away from the wedding so I have time to contact people who didn't send one.
