Wedding Invitation Etiquette HELP!

What is the proper etiquette for addressing children over the age of 16, but under the age of 18 on envelopes if no inner envelope is being used?

Re: Wedding Invitation Etiquette HELP!

That was incredibly rude when the OP is clearly just trying to address her envelopes properly.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

We used to be super sweet, but then they took the P& away.  We've been crabby ever since.

  • OOT has it.  If you don't have an inner envelope then the names of the children go on the outer envelope in order from oldest to youngest under their parents' names.
  • Boys are "Mr." and girls are "Miss".

So if you are sending one invite for the household:

    "Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
     Miss Courtney Smith"

  • Are the five in the same house?

FWIW, when we were married, DH's cousins had 15 children under the age of 7 (from 7 cousins I believe).  We still wrote out the names.
  • Yes, they are in the same house. It's just one cousin and his wife and kids. I can just picture the envelope now... I don't know how they spell all the kids names, so we'll need to ask FI's aunt. Even the future in-laws have trouble keeping them straight (they live in a different state).
