Thank You Notes

I'm writing out my thank you notes and the ones for gift cards I am mentioning what we are planning on using it towards. Truthfully, the few gift cards we got we used towards our bedding. Is it just me or does it seem awkward to use that as a gift example? I don't want to make something up, but if I say I'm using it towards something more standard like china, then I'm afraid it sounds like hey, you didn't spend enough to actually buy me the china. I have a feeling I'm over thinking this.

Re: Thank You Notes

  • I wouldn't worry about it. You could say something like, "Thank you for the gift card. We are looking forward to shopping for odd and ends for our kitchen" or "we really appreciated the gift card. Our house is looking great now!"
  • i agree -- be generic about what you are using the gift cards for.  You can say "linens" instead of bedding if you want, or you can just say that you are using it for "housewares."  If it's a place like BB&B, then that might be kind of obvious.  I like PP's suggestion of "Thanks so much for the gift card!  Our home decor is looking great!"
