Ner: zoom teeth whitening

Has anyone done the zoom teeth whitening treatment? Theres a groupon for it, but I've read some horror stories. Is it worth it?

I've done it... my teeth were fabulous !  they stayed pretty fabulous for a good year (I drink a LOT of diet pepsi, so I was surprised it lasted that long).

Did you get it done recently? The stories I heard about the crazy pain were from a few years ago. Maybe they've worked out the kinks?

It was about 4 years ago.  I mean, it wasn't super "fun", and when they put the lamp on you, it got a little warm, but it didn't burn my gums or anything.  I also think it depends on the dentist.  I have heard of some dentists getting the whitening liquid directly on your gums because they weren't careful, and that stuff can burn.  But, I had great luck with it.

Per PP, peroxide will help.... but, I did peroxide for about a month prior to the zoom, and the zoom was dramatically better.

I think people have had more success with less pain using the custom trays from the dentist. It's usually around $150-200. It takes longer, but it's much harder to get gum irritation and less likely to make your teeth super sensitive.

Both my dentist and my H's dentist have said that the slower process is better in the long run.

I had it done a year ago and regret it. It was a waste of money and my teeth hurt for a full week. My teeth were very white for a week but within a month they were worse than before. I hardly drink soda or coffee.
