I am attending a wedding this weekend where the bride and groom have requested money in lieu of gifts. I was wondering if there is an problem from an etiquette perspective with giving cash instead of a check. At other weddings, I have traditionally given a cheque, however, it can be frustrating waiting for the cheque to clear while trying to balance other expenses. For simplicity sake, I would rather just give cash, but I wasn't sure if that seems tacky or if it is a faux pas. Thank you for your assistance!
