Will it be too late?

I'm hoping to have cute photo thank you cards made from a picture from the wedding -  but I'm having a shower over a month before the wedding - and I feel like sending a thank you note after I get the cards made, which will be after I get the pictures back, which will be after the wedding - might be a long time get thank you cards sent out for the shower gifts. Should I just use other cards for those thank you cards or is it totally acceptable to wait until weeks after the wedding (if not a few months - depending on how long it takes to get the pics/cards and then get them written) to send thank you's for the shower?

I'd send shower thank-yous promptly with some generic thank-you cards. You'll likely get shower and wedding gifts from people, so you'll be able to send those folks a photo card later to thank them for wedding gifts.

You should send thank yous as you get them. So, any gifts before the wedding- send before the wedding. Any gifts at or after, send after. So maybe you could send shower picture- thank yous (and make it an engagement picture), and then plan to do the pro pic one. Also, it's not just etiquette, it's much much easier. I had a child last year and had two showers as well as misc. gifts, and it helped SOO much to send TYs as I went.

Buy some generic thank you's for the shower.  They definitely need to go out before the wedding.  Besides, maybe its just me but I didn't want the same thank you's for my shower as my wedding.  Look at places like Michael's in the bridal section.  My shower thank you's came from there.  They were black and white damask which matched our wedding theme, and came in packs of 40.  Plus you can use a coupon.  Definitely don't wait until after the wedding though.  I can guarantee you will have some people that feel very snubbed by it and will probably skimp on your wedding gift because of it.  People are funny about receiving their thank you cards.

Yeah definitely send the shower TYs before the wedding.  If you have your heart set on photo thank you notes for everything, get some made with your e photos.  However, I think generic thank you's will be fine for your shower.

We worked out a deal with our photographer to get 100 prints of one shot from our engagement session.  That was the picture we used for our thank you cards sent before and after the wedding.

Use different TY cards for your shower gifts.  My MOH that threw my shower got me some TY cards that matched the invitations she sent for the shower, so I used those for that and then I used different TY cards for the wedding gifts.

You can always take a picture of yourselves and order cards now on a different website like snapfish. Or as someone else suggested use your engagement shoot if you did one. If you wouldn't want to do that I agree with everyone else- don't wait to send the thank you notes!
