Names on Save the Dates?

Do you put the names of exactly whom will be invited on save the dates like you would on the wedding invitation?

I assume this is true if you are inviting adults only (ie address save the date to John and Jane Smith without mentioning kids), right?

But, if friend Mike is currently dating Amber, do we send a save the date to Mike and Amber or Mike only and add Amber when we send the actual invite?

I'd say it depends how long they've been together. Dating doesn't sound like a super long-term thing, but for our friends in relationships we sent one STD to the address of our friend and addressed them with the friend's name at the top:

    Ms. Our Good Friend
    Mr. Her boyfriend
    Lizzie
  • If they've been dating awhile, I would put both names, like aragx6 suggested. Friend on top, SO underneath them. I know some of our friends would have been offended if we hadn't put their SO's name on the STD because they've been together forever and would assume their SO was not going to be invited with them.

  • People use the Save-The-Dates for making travel arrangements and taking time off from work -- so I think you should put exactly who is invited.

Keep in mind that "Amber" probably won't come if she and Mike break up before the wedding.
