H worked all day yesterday and the boards were dead. Let's get a thread going?

Here's my random share: Ever since I changed my last name to H's on facebook and other social media sites, half of the ads on the sides of websites like TK are in Spanish. It freaks me out that facebook can "recognize" a Hispanic last name.

IDG parents who still allow their kids to announce their bodily functions long after potty training. Sure, it's essential to have your potty training three year old tell you when he needs to go, but the other day H and I were at a restaurant, and a kid who couldn't have been younger than six said loudly, "Mom, I need to poop." Seriously? Maybe it doesn't gross out Mom and Dad, but strangers think it's pretty nasty. Is it that hard to explain to your kids that all they need to say is, "I need to use the bathroom"?

IDG why people find being a troll amusing... granted, there really haven't been any great ones lately, but that's almost worse. I just think it's immature and childish and I don't get what the purpose is, outside of being annoying.

Same. It seems almost mentally unbalanced to enjoy saying things you don't mean just to get a rise out of people. Also, no one likes someone who does that in real life, so why do people enjoy interacting with trolls on the internet?

I don't get why the boss' son is such a douchebag.   


Seriously,I send him a shitton of email and he replies to NOT ONE of them.    I tired to get a old of him all day Saturday to no avail.  Instead I had to take care of everything. 

The owner asked for a locksmith to come this morning.   The owner asked his son to be there and he didn't show.  Mind you HE LIVES IN THE BUILDING !!!!  So now I'm trying to answer questions on a subject I know NOTHING ABOUT.   (it's an old bulding with old door and locks.  It's not a simple swap out).

I just want to scream.   but he is the boss' son.  He's not going anywhere.


ETA -  I'm just an office coordinator.  He is the Manager.  I was not hired to handle maintenance issues.  Nor IT questions.  Both of which he claims to be an expert at.

IDG why wedding vender websites can't just list their prices. They know what they charge. Is it really so hard to list it on their website?  But no, every one wants you to play email tag. Grrrrrr.

I also don't get why college professors will fail you for missing x amount of classes. It's MY money and I'm an adult... if I miss class, shouldn't that be on me? Very frustrated because of my car problems and commuting 2 hours round trip has caused so much stress so I don't fail simply for missing 4 classes this semester.

Lynda--I would freak out if I had to handle all of that. I'm sure you did the best you could, and if anything wasn't done to their satisfaction, they better not put that on you.

I don't get why my friend is still paying for community college for her twenty-seven year old son when he misses more class than he attends and fails the classes he does go to. She wants to hire me as a math tutor and I'm like no, you can't fix lazy and unmotivated. I think it's just the mentality of the baby boomers that a college education is the be-all and end-all and that getting an Associate's will magically help the fact that he's been unemployed for years.

IDG Greek yogurt.  The texture is disgusting (way too thick) and it tastes like bad cream cheese. 

I concur on the parent IDGIs.

Vent - People at work not sending me data on time (it was due on the 10th!); not responding to my reminder email last week; and then being out of the office today.  I NEED this data before I leave for 2.5 weeks on Wednesday.  I'm looking bad because someone isn't sending me what I need to do an evaluation.

Random - I have not been sleeping well.  I tossed and turned for an hour last night and felt bad for keeping FI awake.  I have also been grinding my teeth far more than usual and they're very sore today.  My night-time mouth guard clearly was not made for wedding stress.  4 more days and then I will be back to sleeping normal.

I don't understand that or the word "Juicy".  Especially on tweens/teens.  Really?!  I am probably old fashioned...

I also need to vent... I had my engagement party this past Saturday, and while my parents behaved, (WHEW!) my dad's sister did not.  She acted like she was raised with no manners... put her feet up on chairs, ate with her mouth open, you get the picture... my FILS were gracious and kind but I could see it on their faces when they saw her picking her teeth in public.  THEN she followed me around the party for 20 mins with her phone wanting me to phone my estranged (and mean as a rabid raccoon) grandmother.  I haven't spoken to her in 10 years for various reasons... I politely declined saying that I couldn't step away at that moment to have a proper conversation as I needed to continue mingling with the invited guests and perhaps later if there was a brief moment for me to step away, i would be happy to make a brief call.  She left before that happened, but I was annoyed nevertheless.

H has kept me awake with snoring the past few nights. I'm kinda worried about it because I've heard that if people randomly start snoring who usually don't, it can signify a health problem. He also says he feels really tired even though he slept.

IDG people who have to make everything tit for tat. H's co-worker covered much of H's work while we were on our honeymoon. Now that we're back, this CW has had a bunch of things come up that prevent him from working and leave H to pick up the slack. He did the same thing when H got back from surgery--suddenly he needed a full week off to "move" and "get his kid ready for back to school." Clearly he just felt entitled to time off just because H had it (and most of it wasn't even PTO).

Don't be hatin' on Greek yogurt! It's delicious, so more for me!

And congrats on only 4 days away! Only 3 more nights of teeth grinding until (i hope) it all goes away!

IDG why some people would rather get $40,000 now than lose a relationship with their kids. :/ My parents are in a battle over the house I grew up/ still live in. My dad never followed any of the divorce stipulations set 15 years ago, never paid an extra time or took on any responsibility to help my mother with my autistic brother, and acted in a way to cause a permanent restraining order by my mother and then "forgetting"  it still existed. I know, I know, it could totally be WAYY worse and I do appreciate everything I do have, it just sucks sometimes.
