OOT gift bags

I contacted the hotels where I have blocks, and only 20 rooms have been blocked.  I have about 70 or so OOT guests.

If your guests aren't staying in the hotel rooms you have blocked, do you make them a gift bag?  Should I just bring extra OOT bags to the RD to see if people want them (problem: not everyone at the RD is OOT and probably not all OOT guests will attend the RD)?  I thought about trying to find out where everyone is staying and dropping off the bags there, but that sounds like a ridiculous amount of work and could represent up to 50 additional drop off locations.

What would you do?

Re: OOT gift bags

  • I'm only doing out of town bags for people that are staying at our room block.  Like Mery said, you are doing them as a courtesy and I'm not really interested in complicating things by hunting down what hotels they are staying in and making drop offs there.

  • 100% of our guests were OOT and some did not stay at our hotel blocks.  I knew who wasn't staying there so I could easily count how many bags would be required for those people.  We had a welcome reception the night before our wedding so people who weren't staying at our hotel block hotels just picked up a bag at that event.  It isn't necessary but it was easy enough for us to do so we did it.  There were a few people who just came for the night of the wedding so they weren't at the welcome reception and we did not create bags for them (unless they were in the hotel block).
