I know there are lots of other important factors (ie social circle, location, etc), but does anyone know if, in general, black tie weddings have a lower (or maybe even higher) attendance rate?
Our guest list started at 150 but has grown to 200+ after factoring in my fiance's large family. I am preparing myself for everyone to come, but honestly have no idea how many actually will. My fiance's family is from the middle part of the country (Pennsylvania, Ohio) and I'm not sure how popular or well-received black tie events are there.
I know there is no set rule on how many people will even RSVP "yes" to a wedding in general, but does attire or formality ever affect the number? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I just feel really in the dark about how many people will end up coming (when vendors ask, I say probably 150-180, but possibly 200 or more).
Thanks for any insight!
