MIL Sat at the Sweetheart Table

Hello all,

I was married last October, and while I didn't notice it at the time, when I later looked at pictures from when my father and I were doing the daddy-daughter dance, I saw that my MIL was sitting in my chair at the sweetheart table with my husband.

They had just done the mother-son dance, and I saw her go back to her table before I got up to dance with my dad, but she must've walked over to my seat while we were dancing.

This really upset me once I saw the pictures. Out of respect for their relationship, I sat in my chair during their dance and watched and enjoyed the moment for them, but when it was my turn to dance with my dad, she sat in my chair at our sweetheart table and tried to converse with my husband, so he wasn't enjoying my moment with my dad.

Isn't the sweetheart table for sweethearts? Not the MIL? Am I wrong to think that her sitting in my chair was an epic mistake?

I googled it, but I couldn't find any etiquette rule saying that it was only for the bride and groom... but I still feel like she did the wrong thing. Does anyone agree with me?
