Out of Town Family

I am hoping to get some insight as to the proper handling of the presence of out of town famliy at the rehearal dinner. My daughters aunt is traveling almost a thousand miles one way to attend the wedding. We rarely get to see the family because of the distance. That being the case my daughter is not close to the aunt due to the distance . I am under the impression that the aunt (my sister) should be allowed to attend since her visit will last for only the two days of the event and the only reason she is coming is to spend time with family. My daughter is telling me she is not welcome and that I am to tell her that she can not attend the dinner. Help! I don't know what to do. I told my daughter she should be the one to make the phone call BEFORE her aunt arrives but she refuses. The meal is an informal one being held in a facility that I am paying for. The Grooms family is providing most of the food and I will provide some as well. Thanks for any comments. The wedding is very close.
