Inviation?

I grew up in a small town and pretty much everyone knows everyone.  Our photographer is a family friend, but probably wouldn't have made "the list" had he not been doing the photos.  So- question... should I send him and his wife an invitation or should I treat him just like any other vendor?
Thanks!

[QUOTE]Are you inviting his wife to eat at the reception? If yes, I'd send one.  If he's the only one coming, I say no.

This. Because he's a vendor, his wife does not have to be invited.
  • Treat him like a regular vendor.  I assume you are paying him and have a contract and everything?
  • Yes we have a contract with him and are paying him.  We'd pay for him to eat either way and his wife usually comes along and helps out if she knows the family she tags along.  What I don't want is for them to feel obligated to buy a gift because I send them an invite.
  • I think you should treat him like a vendor.  He is there to do work, making him a hired professional.  If he wants to bring his wife, then she should get an invite.
