HotHands

I need to know the proper etiquette for requesting money for the honeymoon on the invitations, instead of registeries.  We already have everything and were hoping on a proper way to ask for cash instead.

    1. You don't put registries on invitations so you don't put that on there either.

    2. Asking for cash for the honeymoon is telling people exactly how to spend their money, plus, it's kind of weird for people when they know they're financing the scenery for your *ahem* consummation.

Thanks for posting though, it's been dead around here and I need something to read.

This is an oxymoron. There is no proper etiquette for requesting money. On the invitations, no less. You're not supposed to do any of these things.

  • Have your family spread the word. Nothing in the invites.

FYI: Cash Showers or "Greenback" Showers or whatever they are called are considered VERY rude. Have a small registry if you are going to have a shower.
  • What does "hot hands" have to do with this post?
OP-Putting any registry info on invitations is gift grabby.  Asking for money is just rude!
