STD/Invites for a couple

If I am inviting a good friend and she has been with her bf for over 2yrs...do I send them separate invites since both still live with parents or send to her with & Guest or write his name? I only see him at church 2 semesters of the year with her...so I'm not close with him. Just not sure what the rules were for this.

As well do I give +1 for all friends "dating" or in a "relationship" if I have never met the other person? I could care less, we can cover the food issue and have the space but I need NAMES as it is placed seating

  • You can just put his name below hers on her invitation.  Yes, invite anyone who is in a relationship with their S/O.

  • What about a good guy friend who is dumping his current GF and said "Make sure I have a plus one" as he said he will find someone..it made me LOL, he is like a brother...but on that one is it just the generic & Guest on the envelope or just his name ?

  • Also, facebook is very helpful in figuring out S/O names and correct spellings.

LoL I did not think of that :-P Very wise you are! All I hear in my head from my grandmother is "No darn privacy on that facebook thing, you and your sister..." haha

  • I think if you aren't close with the person and you know they will be a guest of the better friend, just send better friend an invite with a +1.  After they RSVP, maybe call to get the name or do facebook research.  I think also if you can accommodate a +1 for your friends, it is a nice thing to do.  Noone likes to go to weddings without a date if they can help it.
  • Beware of Facebook research. I thought I would be smart and search FB for the name of my FI's cousin's S/O and put that name on the invite, only to get a hilarious text that he has a fake last name on FB. Luckily they both thought it was the funniest thing ever that I used that name, but I would double check with the intended guest... Embarassed
