Literal wedding nightmares

I've been having a TON lately, probably because we're booking things and actually making stuff happen, as opposed to just planning in the abstract.

Has anyone had any exceptionally weird ones?

My one last night involved a cavernous ballroom (the exact opposite of our real space), a high-necked, long-sleeved spandex wedding dress, tons of weddin guests not showing up, and them playing our first dance song during dinner

Re: Literal wedding nightmares

  • Mine always always involved forgetting something.
Nothing catastrophic would happen, but in different vairations on the dream my MOH forgot to come, I forgot my veil, we forgot to take any pictures etc.

But that was enough to make me wake up in serious cold sweats.

  • I've only had one so far. It was awful. I was running really late and my dress was ruined when I tried to get some of the wrinkles out. I can't remember all of the details, but at some point, Matt and I decided not to get married and had to go out to where everyone was and ask them to go home. It was the kind of dream that stays with you all day.
  • I had one the other night. I dreamed my wedding was, like, tomorrow. I hadn't lost weight, my dress wasn't altered, I didn't book half my vendors, and my hair and make up weren't done.

The first nightmare I had, right as I was about to walk down the aisle, our ceremony was interupted by a group of people who wanted to use the space. Bu the time they were done, everyone forgot our ceremony hadn't taken place and moved to the reception, with me trying to tell FI, "But we aren't really married yet!" Also, the florist jsut delivered a bunch of flowers I didn't like and I had to fashion bouquets out of whatever she provided, myself.

The worst dream I've had lately though involved FI cheating on my with his ex girlfriend, who got pregnant. Which would never happen in a million years, but I kept thinking about it!

  • I had one where all of the vendors were there, they had done their job well, I was dressed and ready to go, and then it dawned on me that I had never sent out the invitations.
  • My last wedding nightmare was a week or so ago--Rich and I got to Vegas, only to find out we hadn't made reservations anything...and then there was something about our reception being on a floating wedge of turf. Undecided

  • I had one where I walked out to walk down the aisle and there was no one there. None of the guests showed up and the bridal party was there in sweat pants.

Then another one I couldn't fit into my dress, so my mom made a corset back out of safety pins and ribbons so I could wear my dress.

My moh had a dream that her dress came in and was bright orange with a neon green sash (instead of red with a blue sash). The dress came in that day and was the right color but a size 6 instead of a size 8...oops!
  • I had some before the wedding.  Mostly that no showed up or there was a blizzard and people couldn't get there, etc.

Then, on the night before the wedding I was very sick all night.  I didn't realize it was nerves, so I was convinced that I had food poisoning from the RD.  I thought everyone else must be sick too and that the wedding would be called off.  It was horrible and I only slept about 2 hours that night.

Luckily, it was just nerves, and it all turned out to be great ;)

Just had one last week, we were running late getting to the ceremony site. When I arrived the florist hadn't brought the flowers, so we had to walk around and pick flowers for our bouquets.
Think it was because the people handling the ceremony site, and the florist I was working with have moved to other jobs. And I'm trying to get used to the new people. And I just know when they handed everything over they forgot something. Like ceremony time.

  • something must be wrong with me I'm the only one who voted no...
  • OMG I had a horrible one right after booking the DJ and Photographer.  The photographer never showed up and I didn't realize it until the end so I had no pictures.  The DJ played all the wrong enterance music and the wrong first dance song and come to find out it wasn't even our DJ he couldn't make it so they sent some 18 year old high school kid to fill in.  I woke up in tears the wedding was horrid and I almost canceled my DJ over it, pathetic I know, haha.
  • I've had several.  They always involve ridiculous requests from FI's extended family (oh wait, that one happens when I'm awake too) and things not being ready.  No photographer , no food, my dress hasn't been altered. stuff like that.
  • I have them all the time.  They're usually about me realizing the day of the wedding that I forgot to finish planning.  In the latest one I was late and forgot to get ready and didn't have anyone to do my hair and makeup.

  • I only had maybe 1 nightmare before the wedding but now that the wedding is over, I've been having them nightly.  Last night was about the honeymoon so maybe the nightmares will be over soon!
