Newspaper Wedding Announcement wording

Hello.
I am having a hard time figuring out how to word our wedding announcement for the newspaper since my dad has passed away.
I read most of them and they say Mr & Mrs ?? are proud to annouce the marriage of their daught blah blah
But that doesn't work when my dad is deceased and my mom is not remarried.
Any help would be great!
Thank you!

I would just put "Your name" and "H's name" were married on _________ and then follow that with any info you want to give.

If you wanted to include parents, you could say "Your name" is the daughter of "your mom's name" and the late "your dad's name."

Most papers have a form, and usually it's available online. The paper where I worked for many years had several formats based on who was announcing the marriage or engagement: the couple, the bride's parents or the groom's parents. Usually the groom's parents only announced if the bride was not from this paper's readership area.

  • We only have wedding announcements in the New York Times (only paper in town so to speak)

You submit your info, including photo, 8 weeks in advance.  They vet all the information and if you're chosen, they word the announcement and it is in the VOWS section the Sunday following the wedding.
