I was too late to the music thread, but I feel pretty strongly about The Avett Brothers so I think you should check them out :)  They're awesome.

    Avett Brothers rock! They are ridiculously talented. DH has spent time hanging out with them, and they are just great people. I highly, highly recommend!


    Also, Evelynn Rose is a terrific band as well. Kind of new to the scene, sophmore album coming up mid-year. They have a good southern rock/alternative sound that's just cool. They just came off a USO tour. DH has also become friends with them, and they actually played our after party as our wedding gift. We paid for part of their USO tour because they are such good people. Really cool guys and great music.

    My friends had The Avett Brothers play at their wedding back in 2005.  It was awesome.  We had already seen them in concert a few times, but to be in that intimate of a setting with them playing and us dancing was SO much fun!

    I think I'm going to cry a little bit with jealousy, not gonna lie.  FI asked if we could do that and I gently reminded him that they're probably a wee bit out of our budget :)  We've saw them 3 times last year and those shows were all in fairly small spaces, but FI first saw them back when he was in college at OU and they were just starting out, playing in bars and stuff so that was defintely a better setting.

    Yeah, I'm sure their price in 2005 was much less than it is now.  I wonder if they would even do a wedding now.  They're playing bigger venues now than they did back when we were seeing them regularly.

    Yeah, we'll just settle for having to give the DJ some of their songs to play.  I wish we were getting married in January so we could play January Wedding off of their new album :)  Such a cute song.
