Okay the other morning my fiancé and I were sitting in our office, me working on school my FH working future house planning. He got a call from his brother inquiring about the wedding. The conversation went a little something like this:
“Did you guys set a date?”
“Yes, September 17th.”
“Oh, well… is there anything special about that date?”
At this point my FH and I are a little confused at why the date that we’re getting married on is not special enough.
“Jon, what’s going on?”
“We were wondering if you can push back the date of the wedding.”
At this point I’m fuming and trying to grab the phone out of his hands to scream at his brother. “Uh when were you thinking Jon?”
“Well Cathleen will be in school, so we were thinking August.”
“Uh we can’t do August because the house (the house we’re building and having the wedding at) won’t be done.”
Am I over reacting? Who in their right mind has the gall to call and ask to change the date of a wedding? I understand that his wife will be in school at the time, but I’m going to be in the middle of classes as I walk down the aisle as well. I’m fuming over how rude my FH’s brother was and at this point I just want to tell him not to show up!
