This happened a long time ago, but it still bothers me, moreso on my part--I had no idea what to say, and I probably flubbed it. The Kardashian thing made me think of it.
I sent a gift (more than I could afford to at the time--but this was my fault NOT hers) to a friend for her shower (I didn't go as it was 4 hours away.). She then called off the wedding and emailed me to ask if I wanted the gift back.
I think I said "Just whatever you think is right or are doing for everyone else, it's up to you." THIS WAS PROBABLY BAD.
She then said, "Everyone else said to keep it." And so, that gift was not returned.
What would you have done if you were in HER shoes? Or in mine?
