Wedding Colors and Flowers

Our wedding colors are red, ivory, and a brassy gold. We imagined the red as the main color and the other two colors as accent colors (whatever that means - hah). Our bridesmaids are in red, groomsmen have red vests with black tuxedos, but we're not sure how much branching out we could do without it being tacky in the flowers? If those are our main colors (the cake is also ivory with red flower petals), do people typically stay with those main colors for the flowers? Or do people use whatever flowers might be in their main color range (pink - red, yellow - orange, ivory - any other pale color)? Thanks a bunch!

  • Our colors were red and I have some pictures of bouquets in my planning bio that might give you some ideas too.  Click on my link in my siggy and scroll down to the bottom, there is a link there to my planning bio.

  • I am thinking about a dark blue with red-orange accents color scheme. That would mean BMs in dark blue dresses, etc. But I would then love to see their bouquets more in the red-orange with just a hint or two of blue, with mine more in blue with hints of orange.I think for you that having the bridesmaids carry golden flowers with hints of red would look lovely with their dresses and stand out more, but not in a contrast-y way. Maybe then your bouquet can be ivory as the main flower color with hints of red and gold in it to tie it all together.
