Online RSVP - Is it Tacky?

My fiance and I are having a destination wedding and due to our venue size, we cannot have more than 65 guests.  We want to figure out the best way to encourage people to rsvp quickly, so "B listers" still have ample time to book flights, etc.  My fiance suggested doing online RSVPs, but his family is very traditional and I'm afraid people will just think we are being cheap and trying to save money on response cards!  So the question is...1) is it tacky to do online RSVPs, and more importantly, 2) Do you think people will reply faster if it's online???

Re: Online RSVP - Is it Tacky?

  • Okay ladies, thanks for all the help!  I'm not sure if you will seee this because I took so long to chime in on my own post! (I'm new to this!)  I've got the message about response cards plus online RSVP...I'm all over it and it's a perfect solution.  Re: A list/B list.  No good escuse for this other than the fact that both FI and I have huge families and wanted a small wedding. Just because I don't want to feel like such an a-hole, does it sound any better at all if the A-list is 100% blood family, and B-list is friends?  I'm rationalizing that were people to find out, they may feel slightly better about being on the b-list... I know it super rude but if I keep it small I get the wedding of my dreams in the most amazing place, and that's what it's all about, for us.  If I invite the entire list, it becomes about them, not FI and I, because that's not the wedding we want.  I know everyone has dealt with this problem and it totally sucks...If I just invited the 65 people I REALLY wanted there, even more people would get pissed becuase I'd invite some cousins, not others, some friends, not others, etc.  Sucky all the way around...
