How is everyone today?  We get a front moving in tonight.  Today may very well be the last day of 80 degree weather for the year.  :(  Boo.

What's up on this Thursday morning?  I have 2 coworkers having colonoscopy's today.  That's pretty shitty for them.  ;)

HA! You made a funny. H had his earlier this year, it was fun serving him that stuff to drink, yum : /

Morning Stacks, no one wants to play with me on SB, so I'll bug you. It is actually hit here this morning, is it hot down there?

  • Yay!  New playmates!  :)  It's not hot here.  Well it very well could be during the day while I'm at work but when I've gotten off at 5 everyday this week its been cooling off already since it's getting dark earlier.  I think it's been rather comfortable.  I had long sleeves on J this morning.
I really love fall weather but I hate winter so I'm sad to see summer start to go.

Plus traffic is ridic with school in session.  I don't get how it's instantly crappy traffic when school starts.  Are that many people really teachers on the freeways?

I've noticed the increase in traffic too. Not sure what thats about and teachers wouldnt be traveling the highway around here.

I had a sweater on to take the dog out at 6 and I had to take it off, supposed to be in the 70's this weekend.

  • Ugh, Cfas, that sucks. I think I may have smothered him in his sleep. One look and my husband would have been cleaning it, not sleeping.

I'm not sure Shout will help. When H left a pen in his pants Duds told me to use hairspray it worked well. Maybe google first before you spray it down.

  • T would totally polish his shoes on the bathroom rug, like for real!   This is the exact reason he gets the master bathroom all to himself and J and I share the main bath.  He can leave his beard shavings all over the sink, empty toilet paper rolls on the counter and tiny pieces of leftover bar soap stuck to the floor of the bathtub.  Do as you wish b/c I don't have to see it, I'll clean it once every 2 weeks, if you want it more than that do it yourself.

**Sorry, tangent**  -  I think I would say something along the lines of it was really uncool of him not to take it more seriously when you were upset about the rug.  That it's a very nice gift that you all received and doing something like polishing your shoes was inconsiderate and the least you could have done was apologized or offered to take it to be cleaned.

  • ugh, I've been up for 2 hours now.  And it's only 6:30am here.  BOO.

I have so much to do at work.  We are VERY short staffed and the boss' son is an idiot. He just doesn't get time management.   He works on the dumbest things, but not help out on things that need to get done NOW.    For example, he fired two housekeepers.  Okay, they were not great.  But has done NOTHING to help me out  to find new ones nor is he helping clean the properties.  (I'm the office coordinator - btw).

For example, the pool needs to be cleaned, but he is working until 2am on something stupid like reorganizing the office.  DUDE, our guests who are here NOW do not want to swim in a dirty pool.  F****K the office right now.

    Sorry, I needed to vent.

I think I'm just going to take a shower and go in early.

To add to my stress I have to take DH to the airport at 2pm.    Oh and dumb, dumb hired office staff who can not work on Thursdays.  So not only do I have to clean rooms, some how I have answer phones and emails for 2 properties and  train 2 new housekeepers.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • cfas - I would be PISSED.

  • Morning, all. Cfas, I think you have every right to be pissed. Lynda, sorry work isn't going smoothly. Stage, I would think the theatre degree would have given you good practice for hauling large items, in hauling sets, props, etc.

This week will never end. I lost my planning period yesterday due to meetings. Today I lose both lunch and planning period due to meetings and getting flu shots for my girls and me. It's the first time I've ever had one, so I don't know how I'll react to it. Today was picture day, so I actually put on a little makeup. My eyes already burn. I didn't have to the time to make coffee this morning, so my brain is fuzz. Blech.
  • Morning. I slept like a log yesterday after a busy day. I worked, went to the gym, made two batches of jam, and worked on a craft project for a little bit. I was so happy to sit down by the end of it. Cfas, no advice on stain removal. Sorry he didn't apologize in the thick of things. My H is the one who gets worked up when things get stained/damaged around our house and I'm more of a that's what happens when you use stuff, oh well, person about it. But even I know better than to polish shoes with or on anything but rags.

I'm sorry, cfas. It drives me crazy when ppl are inconsiderate like that.

My H is similarly unconcerned with preserving the things we own sometimes. During the run-up to the wedding he did a few DIY projects with me and kept "forgetting" to use dropcloths when he was staining or painting anything. We had this group of spray-paint circles on the grass while all of our family was in town visiting from the signs he painted, and there are still paint splotches on the patio as well as dark lines on the railing of the deck from where he stained the cake stand.

Men! They're lucky we love them, or we might strangle them.
So far, being a Gray is pretty awesome. image
