Superficial Unpopular Opinions?

Since earlier today was so successful and I missed it, anyone have any unpopular opinions that aren't too controversial? I say that only because it's 1:30 east coast time and I don't know if I can handle deep conversations.

Mine: I think I like puppies more than babies.

My parents have one of those wolf breed type dogs. There is one with these clear blue eyes...it's evil! hahaha

Another one for you...long 2nd toes are creepy too :)
  • k i've clearly been drinking b/c for some reason I thought you said bulls-eyes. Hence the target dog reference. Fail.

But BLUE. yeah, I feel like not a lot of dogs have blue eyes. my friend has a dog from a litter where there was a chocolate lab w/ blue eyes that was gorgeous, but other than that, I can't think of a single dog I know w/ blue eyes!

Also, I just looked at my toes. I'm good!

  • I'm okay with cash bars as long as the guests have something that they can drink for free. (I hate paying for soda at a wedding when it's water and coffee only)

We were tacky and had a CB, but we also had a hot chocolate bar for all of the guests.

We chose to do the CB because it would be a waste of money to have an open bar for about 50 people. (Only a small percentage of our guests were drinkers.)
  • I see nothing wrong with honeymoon registries.  A registry is a registry.  It is all asking for a gift.  And I personally would rather have a gift of a memorable experience than a toaster.

  • I'm considering asking a doctor about accutane because my skin breaks out when I'm not on the pill and I'm worried about how bad it will be if I have to change birth control (not to mention, when I go off it so we can try for babies...). I feel ridiculous for even considering it given the bad side effects that seem pretty common, and the fact that my skin isn't terrible right now, but I know that when I go off Yaz I'm going to be dealing with crappy skin and at almost 27, I feel like my days of pimples should really be done already.

You have to be on the pill to take accutane because it causes birth defects.

No, you have to be on some sort of birth control method aside from a barrier method (So IUD, implant, etc).

Sun, I strongly, strongly encourage you to try prescription topicals or oral antibiotics first if you haven't already.  In fact, at least in the states, you'll be hard pressed to find a derm who won't exhaust all other options first.  Accutane is nasty stuff.
  • Sun- Have you ever heard of Proactiv? I was skeptical from the cheesy commercials but eventually tried it because my skin kept breaking out and looking very shiny.  You can order jumbo bottles off of Amazon.com and its a twice a day treatment to your skin.  I've noticed really great results from this in comparison to antibiotics or other medications I tried from the dermatologist.  Just a suggestion that worked for me :)

  • I still think sarah palin is an idiot, and no one can convince me other wise.
  • Yeah, I will still be on some form of birth control other than barrier (not sure what as yet- having an appointment with a female specialist doctor tomorrow to discuss) so that won't be an issue- however the side effects do concern me. I haven't tried a lot recently- I did when I was a teen, but obviously that was some time ago now and my skin has changed. I'll discuss with the doctor and see what she thinks. Some derms around here refuse to provide accutane until all other options are exhausted, whilst I know of others who will provide short courses of it to pretty much anyone (one of my friends had really good skin for the most part- just a few cystic acne breakouts from time to time, and he was put on accutane for a month and had fantastic results that have lasted years). That said, I don't know that any amount of amazing skin is really worth the side effects, so even if I could have it prescribed, I'm in two minds about if I'd even want to take it. I'll try some alternatives first, like those you suggest JK.

PsyDet, I haven't tried proactive. I've always been put off by the ads! Maybe worth a shot...
