I know that whenever planning your wedding you should never expect $ or any gift at all when inviting a guest. But, I have to ask this question. I'm not having a formal reception but instead a cocktail reception which 12 different types of hor dourves for 3 hours along with cake pops as dessert and I think I'll add the snow cone option which is only $8 bucks a person (just for fun). So for the venu, open bar and hor dourves it'll still cost max $4,000.
Do you think some of our guests will bring a "gift" if it's not considered a formal reception? Obviously I would never ask for it but I was just wondering what people might do.
