I'm home sick, I think an allergic reaction, and it sucks. And we're looking at getting slammed with snow again tonight into tomorrow (Chicago suburbs). Blah.

Btw- this is an AE. I'm not a new poster to E, though I never classified myself as a true reg. a lot of people in my life are recently engaged, and my last screen name was entirely too identifying.

So, you are afraid of your recently engaged friends finding out that you are home sick and preparing for snowstorm?

I'm well aware that anyone is capable of starting a chat thread. Whether or not people participate is often dictated by whether it is a reg who starts it or not. Forgive me for giving some background info in my OP.

It sucks that you're possibly having an allergic reaction! I'm home and waiting for a family member to come over with ski items she wants to give me. But I'm exhausted and really just want to take a nap.

I took my car for my state inspection this morning. Thank goodness we live close enough that I could walk home and back b/c otherwise I would have been stuck there for almost 4 hours waiting on it.

Is it sad I was excited that I took my car in for inspection today too?  Mainly excited I passed and don't have to do it again for a year (hopefully you did too!)  Mine only took about an hour though, so that was a good thing.

Haha!  I have been trying for three days to get it in (I think they have been super busy b/c it is the beginning of the month) and have been driving around on an expired Texas inspection for 8 months!  

I just 2 weeks ago got my VA license plates, so once I did that, I figured I better get legal with a local inspection as well. But before I could get the inspection, I had to take the car into the shop b/c I had an accident last February that caused me a broken headlight. Been driving with that for a year. Eeek. 

I had wanted to keep my TX plates for as long as possible so other drivers would see I wasn't from here and cut me some slack if I was a bad driver (and possibly think that being from TX I might very well have a gun in my glove compartment).

I am such a bad example.

Being home at least I was able to catch up on my Ru Paul, since H hates watching it. Ad I can't watch Judge Judy in peace. Glass half full, right?!

Addie - how do your state inspections work? Is that like emissions or to sell it? Or...?? Here in IL we do emissions tests but you have to stay with your vehicle. Super annoying when you check wait time before you leave only to arrive and have it be quadruple what you expected! Haha Nextrightthing - totally jealous! This will be the fifth or sixth day of snow in the last week and a half. Normally I wouldn't care, but I'm student teaching right now and it wreaks havoc on my commute, that and we've had a super mild winter up until the last few weeks, so I was hoping we could make it without a ton of snow. I like the sun annnd we don't have a snowblower.

You're going to hate me Addie.  I used to live in VA and know what that was like.  Here in ID they have mobile inspection units on almost every major intersection.  It takes all of 3 minutes to get the inspection done.
