thank you card question

I know you're only supposed to write thank you cards for people who brought gifts to the reception but I wasn't sure what to do about this one...we had a family couple marry us.  The two of them and their children attended the wedding afterwards.  We did not receive a gift from them, and we did give the couple a gift at the rehearsal dinner along with a thank you card for marrying us.  Should we send another thank you card for their role in our wedding or should we leave it alone at this point?

Re: thank you card question

  • If you already gave them a TY note for officiating the wedding, I would leave it.
  • ditto PP - you already thanked them.  You're good.

FWIW, you are also supposed to send thank-you cards to people who give you gifts before or after the wedding, or who mail gifts to your house. I'm pretty sure everyone knows this, but just wanted to clarify. I can't figure out how to bold your statement "I know you're only supposed to write thank you note cards for people who brought gifts to the reception...." on my iPad....

Oh yes, I realize that.  I see how what I wrote could be misunderstood.  Ok, I won't send a thank you card to them.
